Working with people to protect nature
Period:This program runs all year around.
Location: Agujitas, El Progreso and Los Planes communities
Duties: Support the environmental education program in primary schools, high schools and different community groups, especially in the issues of solid waste management and conservation of natural resources, help maintain trails, bridges and other community structures, educate tourists in ecologically friendly practices, beach clean ups, tree planting, hydroponic agriculture, among others.
Lodging: Costa Rican families. (private room, shared bathroom and kitchen).
Cost of participation: US$ 375 two weeks. (Includes: materials, full room and board, roundtrip from San Jose- Drake – San Jose and basic insurance policy)
Transportation: This program includes ground transportation
Minimum of stay: 15 days
Languages: Basic English / Spanish
Requirements: Good physical condition for long walks, be able to work in damp conditions and much heat, have capacity to adapt and relate to new cultures, posses capacity to live in rural and remote areas, staying basic in housing and with rudimentary services.
