Volunteer for climate change program

The Corcovado Foundation as part of its objectives in conservation, is supporting the Paquera-Tambor Marine Area for Responsible Fisheries (AMPR), and the Association of Dive-Fishermen of Paquera (ABUZPA) in an exciting volunteer program, which focuses on Climate Change Adaptation activities in the Communities of Paquera and Tambor.  This program offers volunteers the opportunity to come and work mainly in the rural community of Paquera in activities directly related to the efforts of the AMPR, ABUZPA, and the community to adapt to climate change.

Small fishermen communities and marine resources are seriously affected by climate change and those fishermen who dive-fish are the most affected ones.  These communities have turned to alternative economic enterprises, they have organized themselves to treat fishermen fairly and monitor catches to assist a sustainable use of marine resources, work on local Reserves and Wildlife Refuge, and work on ensuring an adequate and sustainable use of fresh water resources.

This volunteer program run by ABUZPA allows you to become part of all these efforts.
