Volunteer for climate change program

Volunteer for climate change program

The Corcovado Foundation, together withe the Paquera-Tambor Marine Area for Responsible Fisheries (AMPR), and the Association of Dive-Fishermen of Paquera (ABUZPA) is opening an exciting volunteering program starting on February 15, 20018 in Labors to Adapt to Climate Change in the Communities of Paquera and Tambor.  This program offers volunteers the opportunity to come and work mainly in the rural community of Paquera in activities directly related to the efforts of the AMPR, ABUZPA, and the community to adapt to climate change.

Small fishermen communities and marine resources are seriously affected by climate change and those fishermen who dive-fish are the most affected ones.  These communities have turned to alternative economic enterprises, they have organized themselves to treat fishermen fairly and monitor catches to assist a sustainable use of marine resources, work on local Reserves and Wildlife Refuge, and work on ensuring an adequate and sustainable use of fresh water resources.

Our program offers you as a volunteer the opportunity to come and be part of all these efforts.

You can make the difference!

We need volunteers from all other the world who want to come and help us make the difference for the community of Paquera through the coordination of AMPR and the Paquera Divers Association.
